Mardi fucking Gras

I love Mardi Gras. It is the coolest fucking party ever. I go every year with a group of friends and this year will be no different. We always stay in an apartment owned by one of my friends and it is right off Bourbon Street. So that way, we don’t have far to go to party or to stumble home drunk. Usually it’s the guys who get drunk and we girls have to take care of them, but we don’t really mind. We all love the parades and King Cake parties that we attend as well. Over the years we have made a few local friends who have invited us to the native parties as opposed to just the public celebration.

I learned a lot about the history of Mardi Gras and the traditions. It is an amazing celebration that’s been around for a very long time. I hope I never get too old for Mardi Gras, because I always want to be able to enjoy the festival. If you have never been to Mardi Gras, I definitely recommend a trip, but plan a year ahead because the hotels and motels book a year in advance. Have a great time if you make it and I will see you there.

No Resolutions for This Girl

So what is the big deal about making resolutions to change yourself? Who says New Year’s Day is the only day of the year when you should strive to make yourself better? I try throughout the entire year to improve myself. I don’t need to make resolutions today. I make them every day!

Putting up the Tree

Looks like I can’t put off getting my Christmas tree put up and decorated. Here it is the 9th already. There are only two more weekends left to shop for Christmas after this weekend. I need to get the tree out of the attic and set it up. Thank God it has the lights already on it and all I have to do is toss some colored balls and candy canes on it. That will take me all morning, though. Maybe it will help get me in the Christmas spirit once it is up and lit.

Red Ribbon

This morning while getting dressed I found my red ribbon that I wore as a lapel pin last year for World AIDS Day. The red ribbon is to raise awareness for HIV and AIDS. So, I’ll pin it on my shirt collar today and encourage people that I see to get the facts about AIDS and to have compassion for the victims of this horrible disease.

Running Late

The electricity must have cut off sometime last night. I sure didn’t hear any thunderstorms or anything unusual – but I was so tired that I might have slept through just about anything. All I know is that I set the alarm for 6:30 before I went to bed and I woke up at 7:45 with no alarm going off at all. And the alarm clock didn’t say it was 7:45 – I had to find that out by looking at my cell phone. ARGH!

Dump the Jealous Ones

Some girls have jealous husbands or jealous boyfriends. These insecure guys really cause a lot of problems for their so-called loved ones. The girl with a jealous boyfriend suffers a lot of embarrassment at the hands of her guy. He usually shows his ass in a variety of public and private settings. He will make nasty remarks to her co-workers, threaten her or others at social events and intimidate her family. There is no easy fix or cure for a jealous guy. If you’ve got one – just admit it and dump him. You don’t deserve to be treated like that and you don’t have to put up with it. Get you a good man – not a jealous jerk.

School Buses Really Slow Me down

Now that school has started my drive to the office every morning takes at least 10 minutes longer. Some days it takes an extra 20 minutes to get there. The problem with that is the school buses slow everyone down. I can’t stand to be late for anything, so I have to leave my house 25 minutes earlier than normal. That means I get 25 minutes less sleep. So now I am tired from lack of sleep and cranky for sitting in traffic longer every morning. Not the ideal way to start my day.

Just a Friend?

So this girl says the guy is just her friend. So what does that mean, exactly? Does that mean she is giving other girls the OK to hit on him? Does that mean the girls need to stay clear because she’s looking for more than just a friend? You can’t just say he’s just a friend and not go past that explanation. That’s no help and we need some guidance here.

Too Fucking LOUD!

So this dude drives by my house today with his ghetto blaster just a jammin and when he goes past my car – parked in the driveway, mind you! – it sets off my car alarm! I had to scramble around looking for my damn keys and pull on my robe and go outside to shut the fucking alarm off. Dude! I don’t care about your eardrums but if you set off my car alarm that music is too fucking loud!

Secret Segregation

Have you ever noticed that barbershops and especially hair salons are still segregated? I never really noticed that until I moved here and was looking for someone to do my hair. Even in the drug stores they have a separate section for hair products for black women. I don’t know how they feel about that – one of these days I’ll find the right moment to flat out ask one of my friends if they find it convenient or insulting?

What could we got for 1 trillion dollars?

I am kind of curious if every American knows what it is this 1 trillion dollars is going to buy and I wonder if they like me wondered what else this money could have bought. I am very glad that Congress failed to pass this bill on the American public and hope that one never does it makes no sense to me that we should be bailing out these companies that put us in this position in the first place.

If for some reason we do pass a bill that puts our kids into more dent than I want to make sure that comes along with the pursuit of justice against the people and corporations that just made life harder on every American and person in the World. Anyways I am curious as to what 1 trillion dollars buys so please start listing the things that we should have got here.

As if we needed another reason to brush our teeth Bobby has another reason to brush your teeth now to!

For everyone out there not taking care of your teeth think about what will happen if you do not take care of them like having to get dental implants. This procedure takes another persons gum tissue like from a dead body then attaches it to cover the part of your gums that are dieing. Yes it is almost like getting an organ transplant.

I could not agree with you more Bobby everyone needs to take care of there teeth!

Wow it seems like the World is getting crazier by the day with lots of stuff happening at one al lover the World. I just hope everyone can chill out for a bit and take breather and sit back relax and chill so we can all get along as the human race that we are!
