Going to Memphis

The girls and I decided to take a weekend trip to Memphis and hit some Jazz clubs. I love that shit. Just a road trip makes me happy, but to go to Memphis for a Jazz weekend is awesome. I love the saxophone, and most Jazz bands have a sax player in it. There are also the obligatory blues clubs to go to as well. We are going to stay with my friend Alicia’s family while we are there. They have a basement that has been made into an apartment, and it is empty at the moment. So, we get a free place to crash as well as awesome southern soul food.

Every woman should take a road trip with her girls before she settles down. It is a bonding experience for you and your friends as well as a while lot of fun. If you are lucky like we are, you get to meet extended family of your friends along the way. My girls and I have met so many members of each others families, that when we all get married the weddings are going to be huge. Well, I am going to go pack for this trip and I will see you guys on the flip side.

Mardi fucking Gras

I love Mardi Gras. It is the coolest fucking party ever. I go every year with a group of friends and this year will be no different. We always stay in an apartment owned by one of my friends and it is right off Bourbon Street. So that way, we don’t have far to go to party or to stumble home drunk. Usually it’s the guys who get drunk and we girls have to take care of them, but we don’t really mind. We all love the parades and King Cake parties that we attend as well. Over the years we have made a few local friends who have invited us to the native parties as opposed to just the public celebration.

I learned a lot about the history of Mardi Gras and the traditions. It is an amazing celebration that’s been around for a very long time. I hope I never get too old for Mardi Gras, because I always want to be able to enjoy the festival. If you have never been to Mardi Gras, I definitely recommend a trip, but plan a year ahead because the hotels and motels book a year in advance. Have a great time if you make it and I will see you there.

Had a fucking blast

Ok, so the girls and I went out last night and had a fucking blast. We went clubbing and I wore the new outfit I bought just for the occasion. We danced all night long, met some awesome people and really hot guys. Then closed the place down at around four am. We went to the Tribe Night club and it was hopping. With standing room only and a crowded dance floor it was a little hard to navigate, but that didn’t stop us. The DJ had the music jumping and the people sweating.

That place was definitely a club I will return to. We got drunk, but only a little since we were dancing so much we were sweating it out as we went. June got sick from too many shooters and left early. I think a guy named Matt took her home. I can’t really remember him but apparently they were good friends. I will have to call her in a little while and see how she is doing. I am sure she is just fine but a little hung over. I can’t wait till our next girls night out, because last night rocked ! Shopping and shit

A girl can’t get enough shopping for shit we need and don’t need but want. So, I am going to the mall with my girls to have some fun and shop till I drop. Last time I was there I saw an awesome pair of shoes that I really want to buy. We women just have to have lots of shoes. There is a sale as well at my favorite store, so this bitch is going to get a few outfits as well. I saw this awesome outfit for clubbing at Five, Seven, Nine. I hope it is still there, because I saved up just for it. I will look hot as hell in it. I think I will wear it on girls night out.

My girl Katie has a birthday coming up soon and we plan on taking her to lunch to celebrate. I will probably pick out her present while we are browsing. it will be much easier to chose after seeing what she looks at and likes. I really hate shopping for people without knowing exactly what they want. Of course there is the obligatory stop at Spencer’s because you cannot go to the mall and NOT go to Spencer’s.

Dump the Jealous Ones

Some girls have jealous husbands or jealous boyfriends. These insecure guys really cause a lot of problems for their so-called loved ones. The girl with a jealous boyfriend suffers a lot of embarrassment at the hands of her guy. He usually shows his ass in a variety of public and private settings. He will make nasty remarks to her co-workers, threaten her or others at social events and intimidate her family. There is no easy fix or cure for a jealous guy. If you’ve got one – just admit it and dump him. You don’t deserve to be treated like that and you don’t have to put up with it. Get you a good man – not a jealous jerk.

Just a Friend?

So this girl says the guy is just her friend. So what does that mean, exactly? Does that mean she is giving other girls the OK to hit on him? Does that mean the girls need to stay clear because she’s looking for more than just a friend? You can’t just say he’s just a friend and not go past that explanation. That’s no help and we need some guidance here.

Secret Segregation

Have you ever noticed that barbershops and especially hair salons are still segregated? I never really noticed that until I moved here and was looking for someone to do my hair. Even in the drug stores they have a separate section for hair products for black women. I don’t know how they feel about that – one of these days I’ll find the right moment to flat out ask one of my friends if they find it convenient or insulting?

This blog has some great advice for guys meeting the parents for the first time titled Leave them at the door.

When it comes to meeting anyone knew leave all your bad habits at the door when you walk in and meet new people. Do not be one the suggests drinking smoking or doing anything bad and of course do not come in smelling like smoke or dressed bad. Always looking sharp and smelling sweet is part of the cool guy code so make sure to do it already.

Great advice it should not be taken lightly! Take it from a mother and parent.

Thats right according to my friend Papa Latti there is lots of going on!

Wow it seems like the World is getting crazier by the day with lots of stuff happening at one al lover the World. I just hope everyone can chill out for a bit and take breather and sit back relax and chill so we can all get along as the human race that we are!
